Dr. Diana Rubel is a consultant dermatologist in private practice at Woden Dermatology, Canberra, a visiting medical officer at The Canberra Hospital, and Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU). She is currently a Principal Investigator with Paratus Clinical, and has conducted over 70 clinical trials as Principal Investigator.

She completed her undergraduate medical degree (1988) and postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics (1992) at the University of NSW, her Masters of Medicine (specialising in cutaneous immunology) at Sydney University (1995) and completed her Postgraduate Specialist training in Dermatology (Australasian College of Dermatologists’ fellowship) in 1998. She has had appointments at the Skin Hospital, Darlinghurst, Sydney, and has been a Staff Specialist at the Sydney Childrens Hospital , Randwick, NSW.

Her goal is to excel in patient care and service to her patients, her referring doctors and her staff. She is passionate about consistently delivering high quality care to all patients, and has developed special interests in skin cancer management, paediatric dermatology, acne, psoriasis, cosmetic dermatology and clinical trials.

Dr Swara Jain is a specialist dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Having grown up in Canberra, she then completed her six-year undergraduate medical degree at the University of New South Wales, graduating in 2016 with the University Medal. During this time, she pursued an Honours research year into epidermolysis bullosa, a rare genetic blistering skin disease, receiving First Class Honours and a scholarship to visit the renowned St John’s Institute of Dermatology in London.

She has presented her work at national and international conferences, leading to several peer-reviewed publications. She subsequently completed a postgraduate Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) degree at the University of Sydney.

Following her medical internship and residency, Dr Jain worked as the Biologics and clinical trials registrar at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, gaining experience in complex therapeutics in medical dermatology. Dr Jain completed her four years of specialist training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, experiencing a wide breadth of medical, surgical and paediatric dermatology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Canberra Hospital, Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

In her final year she was awarded the Kossard Award for Dermatopathology, and the ACD Travelling Fellowship Award for the top performance in Australia in the National Fellowship Examinations.

Dr Jain is interested in all aspects of dermatology, including medical dermatology, acne, paediatrics, eczema, psoriasis, blistering disorders, and the early diagnosis and management of skin cancers. She is dedicated to providing expert evidence-based care with a collaborative patient-centred approach.

Dr Chathurika Karunaratne, also known as Dr CK, is a GP fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with a special interest in skin cancer management. He specialises in comprehensive full-body skin checks, managing skin cancers medically and surgically. He is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor at Skin Cancer College of Australasia and is able to manage most skin cancers within Woden Dermatology.

Dr CK Graduated in 2005 from the University of Colombo, and went on to work in the fields of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care, and Emergency Medicine before he started his GP career in 2015. He attained a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney in 2015 and received his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.

Dr CK brings a wealth of experience and passion for providing exceptional healthcare to our community. He will be specialising in the screening and management of skin cancers, and precancerous changes.
